When I look in the mirror…

Knots in my shoulders,

just under the skin,

roll around like marbles

 for each of 3 little men.

Stiff grey hairs

hiding in the blond,

sticking up like thorns

upon a witch’s wand.

Giant muffin in my shirt

I guess I must have baked?

Got the fluffy top just right

and above my pants it’s staked.

I’ve a road map of Texas

above a wretched scar

looks like a railroad track

would derail any car.

Boobs rolled up tight

bra like a tuna can

posing a fake perk

never to be lusted again.

Eye lashes gone

hair in my nose

red in my eyes

scales on my toes.

Or

Magic in my kisses

honey in my heart

story teller fair

Master of grocery cart.

Architect of forts

empress of snacks

champ whistling coach

perfector of train tracks.

Home base to hide

from a world of strife.

Catapult to launch

each at their own life.

What do they see?

(my heart full of terror)

I hope not what I see

when I look in the mirror.
