Misdemeanors of a Movie Momma

 A light flickers from behind my head.

The room is wickedly dim.

Whispers slice the edgy silence.

For the real fun is about to begin.

I’ve brought a sweater in case of a chill,

in this darkness you can get the creeps!

Already my shoes are bound to the floor,

by a sticky ooze that drips and seeps.

I’ve come prepared.  My stash in my purse.

My sneakiness is my only defense.

There lurks a thief outside the door.

A box of candy is 3 dollars and 99 cents?

This post is in response to Mama Kat’s writer’s workshop prompt:  ”Write a poem about your favorite place to be.”  Stuck to the floor in an overpriced chair, eating stale overpriced snacks, and paying to have the ba-jeesus scared out of me is ridiculous, I know.  But I just can’t get enough!
